Dried flower crafts in September

September is always a busy month workwise, because our shop starts receiving Autumn/Winter and Christmas stock. It may seem early for Christmas, but there are a lot of keen crafters out there – do check out all my blog posts from Christmas last year for some ideas – you might be able to tell that I am particularly keen on crafts with dried oranges and cinnamon sticks!

So I haven’t been doing much in the way of dried flower crafts, but I have been out looking at my garden flowers – here are some pics.

Lavender harvest

September is also the month when the lavender harvest comes onto the market. This year our Provencal growers tell us the French harvest of lavender flowers has been slightly less than hoped (this has been an ongoing situation for about five years). But our British lavender growers had a bumper harvest, so UK lavender continues its upward trend.

Fingers crossed for another month of sunshine!
